Job summary

SCHOTT Glass (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Yield Engineer to drive first-pass yield improvements for new optical components in the product development and NPI phases. You will work with Design, Product Engineering, Process Integration, Modeling and Quality teams to resolve issues and push for robust solutions.

You will review customer drawings, establish BOMs, and coordinate transfer from design to production, ensuring readiness and cost-effective manufacturing while meeting milestones.

Qualifications

• Min 3 years of yield engineering, process integration, product engineering experience in semiconductor or optical industry.
• Strong data-analysis, DOE and statistical skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational and team-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive first-pass yield improvements on new products during D development and NPI phases.
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with Design, Product Engineering, Process Integration and Quality teams to resolve issues.
• Develop yield improvement roadmaps to hit and exceed target yields for new optical components.
• Review customer drawings and specifications for new product releases.
• Establish BOMs to ensure on-time availability, quality and cost.

Job description

Responsible to drive yield improvements within the product development and NPI phase for new optical components.

Key responsibilities

Work cross-functionally with multiple groups including Design, Product Engineering, Process Integration, Process Development, Modeling, Failure Analysis and Quality teams to drive first pass yield improvement on new products, identify and resolve issues

Drive yield improvement roadmaps in order to achieve and exceed target yields for new optical components

Summarize complex problems, develop actions to address them, and build consensus across teams to drive for solutions

Review customer drawings & specification for new product release

Establish bill of material list in order to ensure on time availability, quality & cost based on new product scheduling as well as consumption per unit

Close collaboration with cross-functional team to coordinate transfer or initiate conceptual design to production phase

Understand the product development process and related procedure to support project milestones from technical and manufacturing standpoint

Establish & maintain all product related documentation list

Supervision Product Technician by providing guidance and performance monitoring

About you

Min 3 year experience in the field of yield engineering, process integration, product engineering within the semiconductor or optical industry

BSc/MSC Degree in Mechatronics / Electronic Engineering / Photonics / Physics / Optics

Knowledge in the field of product, process or test engineering

Knowledge and interest in optical components

Proficiency with data analysis, DOE, and statistical techniques

Problem solving methods

Excellent communication, organizational, and team building skills

Target driven personality with high execution focus
