We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Management Accountant to oversee our financial closing activities, monthly reporting, and financial compliance. Based in Malaysia, you will be responsible for end-to-end accounting processes including general ledger operations, financial reconciliations, statutory audit facilitation, and payroll processing across the organization, including local and international business units (e.g., Vuly, AUD, EU/UK, CAD, MY, US).
Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities within strict reporting deadlines.
Prepare and update the Profit & Loss (P&L) statement and Balance Sheet.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and intercompany settlements.
Manage Fixed Asset (FA) registers, including capital expenditure (CAPEX) tracking, additions, disposals, and monthly depreciation calculations.
Calculate and post monthly accruals, prepayments, deferred revenue, and journal adjustments.
Year-End Management Accounts & Reconciliations
Prepare comprehensive year-end management accounts and audit schedules.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
Provide financial insights and analysis to various internal teams and management.
Manage and oversee the credit card reconciliation process, ensuring timely completion from team members.
Ensure all transaction coding is accurate and allocated to the correct expense accounts.
Payroll & Operational Accounting
Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing, ensuring accurate calculations for salary, allowances, and overtime.
Handle statutory payroll deductions and timely submissions, including EPF (KWSP), SOCSO (PERKESO), EIS, and PCB (LHDN).
Prepare payroll journal entries and perform monthly payroll reconciliation against general ledger accounts.
Stakeholder Management & Financial Analysis
Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, department heads, and senior leadership to explain variances against budgets and forecasts.
Manage relationships with external third parties, including auditors, tax consultants, banking partners, and local government bodies.
Assist in cash flow management, budgeting, and performance analysis to support business decisions.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualification is highly advantageous.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in management accounting, financial reporting, or general ledger management.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, financial modeling).
Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proven track record of managing external auditors and communicating effectively with non-finance stakeholders.
