Job summary

INVEST ENERGY ASSET MANAGEMENT SDN. BHD. in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Junior Finance Manager to support financial operations and strategic initiatives, reporting to senior finance professionals.

The role covers monthly management accounts, budgeting, cash flow, payroll coordination, tax filings, audits, and continuous process improvement within a dynamic energy-focused team.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant or equivalent with ACCA/ICAEW or recognised local qualification.
• 3–5 years in accounting/finance, preferably in financial management.
• Proficient in accounting software and Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly management accounts and month-end close for the management/advisory entity.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, expense processing, staff claims and vendor payments.
• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts and budget-vs-actual analysis, and monitor operating expenditure.
• Prepare internal financial and management reports for senior management and department heads.
• Manage cash flow, bank reconciliations and day-to-day treasury matters for the management entity.
• Coordinate payroll, statutory contributions and routine tax/compliance filings with external advisers.
• Liaise with external accountants and auditors and coordinate the year-end audit process.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, financial controls and supporting documentation.
• Support the Fund Accountant and wider finance team on fund-level accounting, reporting and other finance-related matters as required.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and reporting as the business grows.

We are seeking a Junior Finance Manager to join our finance team in Kuala Lumpur on a full-time basis. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the financial operations and strategic initiatives.

As a Junior Finance Manager, you will work alongside senior finance professionals to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective budget management, and compliance with financial regulations. What we're looking for

• Qualified accountant or equivalent with a relevant degree or professional qualification (such as ACCA, ICAEW, or a recognised local accountancy qualification).
• 3-5 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within financial management, management accounting, or a similar function.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP).
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and project management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Knowledge of infrastructure, utilities, or project-based financial management would be advantageous.
