Job summary

Esri Malaysia is seeking a skilled GIS IT specialist to provide technical GIS application support, training, and managed services to clients, ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing geospatial systems.

You will work with ESRI technologies (ArcGIS Desktop/Server), monitor performance, perform health checks and backups, and support GIS integrations with other enterprise systems to maintain client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Degree in GIS/Computer Science/Information Technology or related field.
• 5+ years in GIS or IT related roles.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident/Problem/Change).
• Experience with ITSM ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.

About the Role

Provide technical GIS application support, training, and managed services to clients while ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing geospatial systems. This role focuses on delivering a seamless user experience and maintaining client satisfaction.

The key responsibilities include:

• Proven knowledge and hands-on experience with ESRI technologies, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, enterprise GIS platforms, and GIS-related databases.
• Ability to provide end-to-end operational support, diagnose and resolve system/application issues, perform root cause analysis, and maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Experience monitoring system performance, conducting health checks, managing backups, maintaining system reliability, and supporting GIS integrations with other enterprise systems.
• Ability to gather business requirements, provide technical advisory services, collaborate with clients and stakeholders, and ensure SLA compliance through effective communication and reporting.

You have experience in IT consulting, managed services, or technical support, with a strong understanding of GIS, IT operations, and customer service. You are confident working with clients, managing technical issues, and delivering effective solutions to support business needs. You will be successful if you have:

• More than 5 years working experience; preferably minimum of 4 years’ experience in GIS.
• Degree in GIS/Computer Science/Information Technology/Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in Cloud Architecture, IT and Networking field.
• Prior exposure to GIS or geospatial technologies (e.g. ArcGIS) is an advantage.
• Strong familiarity with ITIL processes, specifically incident, problem, and change management.
• Experience using IT Service Management (ITSM) ticketing tools like ServiceNow, Jira, or Remedy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing positively to team outcomes.
• A positive, proactive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and domains.
