Job summary

KONE Malaysia is seeking a Major Project Technician to join our Service Maintenance team in Petaling Jaya. You will work in a small group of Field Service Specialists attending fault calls, completing escalator/elevator repairs, and servicing an allocated maintenance run.

The role requires a Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, minimum 2 years in elevator/escalator maintenance, strong troubleshooting and communication skills, and possession of own transport with a motorcycle license.

Qualifications

• Experience in elevator/escalator maintenance and fault troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose complex issues.
• Good communication and customer service abilities.
• Familiar with electrical/mechanical systems and IT networks relevant to diagnostics.

What will you be doing?

Responsible for accurate and real-time back reporting of work performed to ensure accuracy of customer notification.

Responsible for maintaining excellent relationships with customers.

Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues

Networking

On-call support and standby availability

Providing service and assistance as needed

Willingness to perform overtime as required

Handling and assisting external visitors, effective communication with all stakeholders.

Manages daily workload with minimal assistance from Supervisor.

Ensure safety at all times.

Are you the one?

Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Minimum 2 years of experience in elevator/escalator maintenance

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Familiar with software-based diagnostics, electronic systems, IT networks, and fault analysis

Good customer service and communication skills

Possess own transport and valid motorcycle license

Willing to work rotating shifts and travel when required.
