Job summary

A global leader in lighting solutions is seeking a Color Control Engineering Technician to support the Color Process Engineers in operational product sustenance. Ideal candidates should have a diploma in Science or Engineering and at least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong communication skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office are advantageous. This role is based in Bayan Lepas, Malaysia.

We are looking for someone who would like to join us as an Color Control Engineering Technician in Lumileds.

Position Summary:

Lumileds is seeking a highly-qualified technician to take responsibility for supporting the Color Process Engineers in operation product sustenance. Identifies, evaluate and solves technical product or process problems with materials, equipment or machinery in the area of responsibility.

What You Will Do:

• Involves not only on hands on process but also color analysis with computing skills

Responsibilities

• Monitors color targeting, performance, quality and reliability of products, identifies problem or unfavorable deviations, recommends and executes corrective actions.
• Analyze product performance and capability and provide recommendations and executes solutions to improve color performance, quality and reliability.
• Support engineering work by carrying out product characterizations using electrical/ optical instrumentations.
• Support Special Care Requests for product modifications or differing performance requirements.
• Design and implements improvements to products, processes, material, tooling equipment or documentation which enhance the utility, quality, reliability or cost effectiveness in the area of responsibility.
• Compile daily, weekly and monthly yield/distribution report.
• Ensure the information used for traceability or database are up to date.
• Work with Order Management and Planner in coordinating engineering sample or customer samples preparations.
• Inventory management with documentation updates.
• Assist Color Engineer to dispose and track low yield trigger lots.
• Manage engineering receiving and shipment process.
• Support on data entry correction in system and part reclass physical update.
• Support on lab process such as blade coating, phosphor mixing and etc.
• Complies with environment, security, health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of working experience in the manufacturing environment especially in Product Engineering
• Associate's / Diploma
• Field of Study: Science / Engineering field
• 2 - 3 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Matured personality with strong communication skills.
• Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, JMP basic knowledge is advantageous
• SPC skills is a plus.
• Independent personnel.
