Job summary

Masimo Malaysia is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform work orders for corrective and preventive maintenance, electrical minor repairs, and line design movements. You will service electronics equipment and install electrical controls, supporting the engineering department on equipment improvements to reduce downtime.

The role requires at least 3 years of maintenance experience, strong communication, and hands-on skills with soldering, PLCs, and automatic equipment analysis.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years maintenance experience; 5 years for senior level.
• Good communication and cross-level interfacing skills.
• Experience repairing electronic equipment and using soldering iron.
• Experience in automatic equipment failure analysis, molding machines, chillers, dryers.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
• Execute preventive maintenance and support line uptime.
• Assist production lines to ensure product quality and equipment reliability.
• Report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Maintain backup equipment and safety devices.
• Install and modify manufacturing lines and basic electrical installations.
• Repair electronic equipment including power supplies and general electronics.
• Install and analyze electric control and PLC systems.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing work orders for corrective and preventive maintenance according to maintenance schedules, electrical minor repairs, and line design movements as required. Technicians perform electronics equipment repairs and electrical installations, analysis and installation of electric control components. At higher levels, technicians support the engineering department on the development of specialized equipment, implementation of improvements with focus on downtime reduction, and supporting improvement projects. Senior technicians work on multiple highly complex major projects requiring innovative original solutions, work mostly independently with minimal supervision, attend breakdowns, identify faults and problem solve with minimal downtime to production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on equipment as requested by Maintenance Supervisor and perform work orders for corrective and preventive maintenance
• Execute preventive maintenance on equipment according to maintenance schedules
• Support production lines with focus on maintaining product quality and equipment in good working conditions
• Report unsafe working conditions to area supervisor
• Maintain backup equipment in good conditions and properly working when required
• Maintain safety devices of equipment in good working conditions
• Installation and modification of manufacturing lines and basic electrical installations
• Perform electronic equipment repairs, power supplies and general electronic work
• Execute electric control installations and analysis and programming in PLC
• Analyze and repair inkjet printers and support automation of equipment

About you

• Minimum 3 years experience in maintenance (5 years for senior levels)
• Good communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of employees within the organization
• General mathematical skills
• Electronic equipment repair experience and soldering iron experience
• Experience in automatic equipment failure analysis
• Experience in molding machines, chillers and dryers
• Experience in electric control and electrical testing
• Experience in control systems and PLC
• Experience in cost reduction projects and improvement projects
• Electromechanical Technical Degree or Incomplete Engineer career (4th semester or higher) and strong electromechanical systems knowledge

Physical requirements/Work Environment

This position primarily works in indoor facilities. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. It may stand for extended periods walking in the facilities. Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 kg and climb a vertical ladder. Must have knowledge of work on hot surfaces, as you will have direct contact with molding equipment with high temperatures, and have knowledge in the use of personal protective equipment for solvents. The Maintenance Technician may only use hand tools, impact tools, hand saws, hand drills, hammers and low risk equipment. The use of all equipment and accessories that represent a high risk such as bench cutting tools, electric cutting saws, manual bow saws, etc. is prohibited. Always use personal protective equipment where applicable for the execution of maintenance activities.
