Job summary

Global Maritime Terminal Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a hands-on maintenance technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair cryogenic ISO tanks and associated systems.

You will perform MIG welding on structural components, handle surface preparation and painting, and verify vacuum integrity to ensure safe operation of insulated tanks. Responsibilities include maintaining pumps, valves, and piping, plus safe lifting of tanks using reach stackers.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of MIG welding experience, preferably in structural steel fabrication or repair.
• Knowledge of industrial piping systems and components.
• Experience with pumps, valves, or cryogenic equipment is a plus.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and piping schematics.
• Willingness to operate lifting equipment such as reach stackers.

Responsibilities

Job description

This role involves inspection, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of cryogenic ISO tanks, along with preventive and corrective maintenance. You will repair structural components using MIG welding, perform surface preparation and painting, and conduct vacuum integrity checks. You will also repair, overhaul, and maintain cryogenic pumps and valves, carry out piping repair and replacement, and safely operate lifting equipment such as reach stackers. All work must comply with company safety procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspection, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of cryogenic ISO tanks
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on cryogenic tanks
• Repair structural components, including external beams, using MIG welding
• Perform surface preparation, touch‑up painting, and complete tank repainting as required
• Conduct vacuum integrity checks on insulated ISO tanks and identify any vacuum performance issues
• Repair, overhaul, and maintain cryogenic pumps
• Repair, replace, and test cryogenic valves, pressure relief devices, and associated fittings
• Carry out piping repair, replacement, and leak rectification
• Safely lift, move, and position ISO tanks using a reach stacker or other approved lifting equipment
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report equipment defects promptly

About you

• Minimum 2–3 years of hands‑on MIG welding experience, preferably involving structural steel fabrication or repair
• Practical knowledge of industrial piping systems and piping components
• Hands‑on experience in piping repair, installation, and maintenance
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical equipment
• Experience repairing pumps, valves, or cryogenic equipment is an added advantage
• Ability to read engineering drawings and piping schematics is preferred
• Experience operating a reach stacker or possession of a valid reach stacker/forklift competency certificate is an advantage
• Fit and able to perform manual work in an industrial environment
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
