Job summary

GH BORNEO ENGINEERING SDN BHD is seeking a skilled technician to install and maintain goods hoists, cranes, and related industrial equipment at client sites. You will read drawings, perform assemblies, wiring, and safety-compliant testing, with on-site troubleshooting and corrective repairs.

The role requires working at heights, travel to project sites, and overtime when needed. A technical diploma and hands-on fabrication or PLC experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Read basic mechanical drawings and electrical wiring diagrams.
• Familiar with hand tools, power tools, and basic testing instruments.
• Welding, fabrication, motor control, or PLC troubleshooting skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Install and assemble goods hoist structures, guide rails, platforms, gates, and lifting mechanisms.
• Carry out mechanical fitting, alignment, drilling, and fabrication work as required.
• Install electrical wiring, control panels, limit switches, and door interlocks within assigned competency.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including inspection, lubrication, adjustment, and replacement of worn components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults involving hoists, motors, brakes, control systems, and safety devices.
• Assist engineers with testing, commissioning, load testing, and inspection preparation.
• Attend customer breakdown calls and carry out repairs at site.
• Record service findings, work completed, parts replaced, and outstanding defects.
• Explain basic operating procedures and routine care to customers.
• Follow site safety procedures, including power isolation, working at height, and proper use of PPE.

About you

• Experience in goods hoists, cranes, lifts, industrial machinery, or equipment maintenance is an advantage
• Able to read basic mechanical drawings and electrical wiring diagrams
• Familiar with hand tools, power tools, and basic testing instruments
• Welding, fabrication, motor control, or PLC troubleshooting skills are an advantage
• Willing to work at height, travel to project sites, and work overtime when required
• Responsible, safety-conscious, and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driving licence is preferred
