Job summary

SK 8 ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. is looking for an experienced Maintenance and Technical Manager to oversee 24/7 service operations for mission-critical facilities in Bandar Penawar, Malaysia.

You will plan preventive and corrective maintenance, review drawings, and coordinate with service teams to meet SLA commitments. The role requires a diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics engineering with at least 5 years in maintenance/technical management.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics.
• Minimum 5 years in maintenance, service or technical management.
• Experience with AMC and SLA management preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Ability to travel for customer visits and site inspections.

This role involves maintenance and technical management of mission-critical facilities and 24/7 service operations. You will plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities, conduct site inspections and technical assessments, coordinate with service teams, and provide technical guidance and support for maintenance and service activities.

Key responsibilities

Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities

Ensure maintenance activities are completed according to customer requirements and agreed schedules

Provide technical guidance and support for maintenance and service activities

Troubleshoot technical issues and support emergency breakdown response when required

Conduct site inspections and technical assessments to identify maintenance requirements

Review engineering drawings, technical documentation, and equipment conditions

Recommend suitable maintenance, repair, refurbishment, retrofit, and upgrade solutions

Work closely with Service Engineers and Service Coordinators to plan maintenance schedules and manpower

Monitor service delivery to ensure compliance with customer requirements and SLAs

Communicate with customers regarding maintenance requirements, technical issues, and service recommendations

About you

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline

Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance, service, or technical management

Experience in managing Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) is preferred

Good understanding of generator enclosure systems, diesel generator support systems, mechanical and electrical equipment, HVAC and ventilation systems, acoustic enclosures, fuel systems, and preventive & corrective maintenance

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation

Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems

Good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Strong technical, communication, problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills

Able to work independently and willing to travel for customer visits, site inspections, and emergency support
