Job summary

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on kitchen equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, and air-conditioning, keep maintenance records, and liaise with Outlet Managers to minimise downtime.

Qualifications

• Diploma, Certificate, or technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering, Facilities Maintenance, or a related field.

We are looking for a Project Maintenance Team Leader to join our team and take ownership of the maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability of our outlet equipment and facilities. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced technician who is confident working independently, diagnosing technical issues, and coordinating repairs across multiple locations.

Summary

The Project Maintenance Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring that kitchen equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, air-conditioning, and general outlet facilities remain operational, safe, and well maintained.

The successful candidate will carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, respond to breakdowns, identify recurring technical issues, coordinate with external contractors when required, and work closely with outlet teams to minimise equipment downtime and operational disruption.

Responsibilities

Carry out inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial kitchen equipment, including:

• Fryers
• Blanchers
• Freezers and chillers
• Steamers
• Food warmers
• Ovens and cooking equipment
• Other food preparation and kitchen machinery
• Diagnose equipment faults and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and in accordance with operational requirements.

2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

Implement and follow preventive maintenance schedules across outlets.

Conduct regular inspections to identify potential equipment or facility issues before breakdowns occur.

Respond promptly to urgent maintenance and breakdown requests.

Prioritise repairs based on operational impact and safety requirements.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and equipment downtime.

3. Electrical & Building Services

Troubleshoot and carry out basic repairs relating to:

• Electrical systems
• Power points and switches
• Plumbing and water systems
• Drainage
• Air-conditioning and ventilation
• General outlet facilities and fixtures

Identify issues requiring specialist intervention and coordinate with approved contractors where necessary.

Ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely and in compliance with company procedures.

4. Outlet Support

• Provide technical support to multiple Pop Meals outlets.
• Liaise with Outlet Managers and operational teams to understand and resolve maintenance issues.
• Attend urgent breakdowns that may affect outlet operations.
• Minimise equipment downtime and disruption to business operations.
• Provide practical guidance to outlet staff on basic equipment care and troubleshooting where appropriate.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialised repairs and servicing.
• Supervise contractors on-site to ensure work is completed properly and within the required timeframe.
• Verify completed work and report any outstanding issues.
• Assist with sourcing replacement parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
• Maintain basic records of spare parts and commonly required maintenance items.

6. Safety & Compliance

Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely and in accordance with company SOPs.

Follow appropriate electrical, mechanical, workplace safety, food safety, and hygiene requirements.

Immediately report equipment or facility conditions that may present a safety risk.

Ensure defective equipment is appropriately isolated or taken out of service when necessary.

7. Reporting & Documentation

Maintain maintenance logs, service records, repair history, and breakdown reports.

Track recurring equipment failures and recommend solutions to reduce downtime.

Provide regular updates to management on significant maintenance issues.

Assist in maintaining an accurate record of equipment and maintenance requirements across outlets.

Diploma, Certificate, or technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering, Facilities Maintenance, or a related field.

Relevant technical certifications will be an added advantage.
