Job summary

SUMOS (M) SDN. BHD. is seeking a responsible Technician Executive to join the team. The role focuses on machine maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, ensuring equipment is in good working condition across customer sites.

The successful candidate will perform preventive maintenance, attend breakdowns, document repairs and assist with installation and commissioning as needed. A hands-on, independent worker with a valid driving licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related field.
• Previous experience as a Technician or similar role is preferred.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and handle machine breakdowns effectively.
• Willing to travel to customer locations when required.
• Possess a valid driving licence.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to urgent repair requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of machines and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and carry out necessary repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to minimise machine breakdowns and downtime.
• Attend to machine breakdowns and customer service/repair requests when required.
• Ensure all repair and maintenance work is properly completed and recorded.
• Assist with installation, testing and commissioning of machines where required.
• Maintain proper records of repairs, maintenance and replacement of parts.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and according to company requirements.
• Perform other technical and maintenance duties as assigned by the Management.

Preferred Experience / Added Advantage

• Experience working in the food industry or food equipment servicing.
• Hands-on experience in repairing and servicing waffle machines.
• Hands-on experience in repairing and servicing ice cream machines.
• Experience in air-conditioning servicing and repair.
• Experience handling electrical, mechanical, refrigeration or related equipment.
• Experience providing on-site technical support to customers.
