Job summary

PGEO Edible Oils Sdn Bhd (A Member of Wilmar International Group) in Pasir Gudang invites applicants for a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer (Mechanical). This full-time on-site role involves leading preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximise equipment reliability.

You will provide hands-on support for rotating and static equipment, utilise SAP PM and Excel for planning, and collaborate with Production to minimise downtime and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in maintenance and reliability engineering in manufacturing.
• Proven experience in preventive and predictive maintenance and reliability improvement programmes.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance to maximise equipment reliability.
• Diagnose breakdowns, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve equipment performance and reduce failures.
• Provide hands-on technical support for rotating and static equipment.
• Utilise SAP PM for maintenance planning and work order processing.

Maintenance & Reliability Engineer (Mechanical)

Role Description

This is a full‑time on‑site role for a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer (Mechanical) at PGEO Edible Oils Sdn Bhd (A Member of Wilmar International Group of Companies) in Pasir Gudang.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant working experience in maintenance and reliability engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and reliability improvement programmes.
• Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience in rotating and static equipment maintenance.
• Strong hands‑on experience with rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors and fans.
• Strong hands‑on experience with static equipment such as tanks, vessels, piping systems, heat exchangers and pressure equipment.
• Experience in planning, executing and monitoring preventive maintenance programmes.
• Proficient in SAP PM, including maintenance planning, notification management, work order processing and maintenance history tracking.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.

Candidates with knowledge or experience in the following will have an added advantage:

• Power BI
• Vibration analysis and condition monitoring
• Asset condition and performance management
• Reliability‑centred maintenance (RCM) and other reliability improvement methodologies
• Maintenance and reliability KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR and equipment availability

Job Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programmes to maximise equipment reliability and minimise unplanned downtime.
• Diagnose equipment breakdowns, identify root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies and reliability improvement initiatives to improve equipment performance and reduce recurring failures.
• Provide hands‑on technical support for rotating equipment, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors and fans.
• Provide hands‑on technical support for static equipment, including tanks, vessels, piping systems, heat exchangers and pressure equipment.
• Plan and schedule planned and corrective maintenance activities in coordination with Production and other relevant departments.
• Utilise SAP PM for maintenance planning, notification management, work order processing and maintenance history tracking.
• Monitor equipment condition, maintenance performance and reliability trends, and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Monitor maintenance costs, spare parts and resources, and coordinate with contractors and suppliers where required.
• Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance personnel and ensure maintenance work is completed safely and to the required quality standards.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning and engineering improvement projects.
• Prepare maintenance reports and provide regular updates on equipment performance, maintenance activities and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, safety requirements and applicable quality, environmental and regulatory standards.
