Job summary

PGEO Edible Oils Sdn Bhd in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia invites a Maintenance Engineer to join the Refinery Division. You will develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, plant-maintenance experience, strong problem-solving, planning and communication skills, and willingness to work in a 24/7 plant environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline is required.
• Experience in maintenance engineering, manufacturing, or plant environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance practices.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, planning and organisational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work in a plant environment and support 24/7 maintenance operations when required.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
• Plan and coordinate routine, preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
• Diagnose equipment breakdowns, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, start-up, and maintenance improvement projects.
• Lead and supervise fitters and maintenance personnel to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and maintenance efficiency.
• Manage maintenance tools, spare parts, equipment, and inventory.
• Coordinate procurement of spare parts, components, equipment, and maintenance services.
• Supervise contractors and ensure work meets safety, quality, technical, and budget requirements.
• Monitor maintenance costs and recommend cost-effective solutions.
• Prepare maintenance reports and provide updates to Management on maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, safety regulations, and relevant management systems.
