Job summary

METEX STEEL SDN BHD is seeking a skilled maintenance supervisor to lead daily maintenance operations focused on electrical and electronic systems in our manufacturing environment. The role emphasizes reliability and safety in a steel-related production setting.

You will troubleshoot electrical and control systems, guide technicians, and coordinate with external contractors to minimise downtime while improving performance and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily maintenance operations, with a primary focus on electrical and electronic systems in manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, electronic, PLC, inverter, motor and control system issues to minimise machine downtime.
• Plan, implement and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance programmes to ensure optimal machine performance.
• Supervise and provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians to ensure timely and effective maintenance work.
• Coordinate with external contractors, equipment suppliers and service providers for technical support, repairs and maintenance activities.
• Monitor equipment performance, maintenance costs, spare parts inventory and overall maintenance efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, workplace safety regulations and company policies.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management.

Job description

Job Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.

Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with supervisory or managerial experience.

Hands-on experience in troubleshooting electrical and electronic faults in production machinery.

Experience in steel, wire mesh, metal fabrication or related manufacturing industries will be an added advantage.
