Job summary

Kami Farming Sdn Bhd is seeking a Maintenance Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment in an industrial setting. The role includes preventive maintenance and using CMMS to minimize downtime at our Penang facility.

We require hands-on experience with electrical control circuits, PLCs, VFDs, and sensory equipment, plus at least 1 year in industrial maintenance. A Diploma or Vocational certification in engineering is desirable, with basic MS Office skills

Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in mechanical repairs and electrical troubleshooting.
• Minimum 1 year of industrial maintenance experience.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office; Word/Excel is a plus.
• SKM or related Diploma/Certificate is a plus.
• Manufacturing background is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical control circuits, PLCs, VFDs, and sensory equipment.
• Perform routine inspections on distribution panels, motors, transformers, and LV/MV systems.
• Use diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, thermal imaging) to identify anomalies.
• Inspect, service, and repair mechanical equipment (pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors).
• Perform precision alignment, belt adjustments, bearing replacements, and component rebuilds.
• Read mechanical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
• Execute preventive maintenance using CMMS.
• Analyze performance metrics to recommend process improvements.
• Adhere to LOTO, OSHA, and EHS standards; maintain clean work areas.
• Participate in root-cause analysis for incidents.

Job description

This is a Maintenance role responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment in an industrial setting. You will perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance using diagnostic tools and computerized systems to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.

Key responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical control circuits, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and sensory equipment.

Perform routine inspections on electrical distribution panels, motors, transformers, and low-to-medium voltage systems.

Utilize diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, thermal imaging) to identify electrical anomalies before failures occur.

Inspect, service, and repair mechanical equipment including pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and drive systems.

Perform precision alignment, belt adjustments, bearing replacements, and component rebuilds.

Read and interpret mechanical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.

Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) routines using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Analyze equipment performance metrics to recommend process improvements and reduce unplanned downtime.

Adhere strictly to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA safety standards, and environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations.

Maintain clean, organized work areas and participate in root-cause analysis for workplace incidents.

About you

Proven expert-level proficiency in both mechanical repairs and electrical/technical troubleshooting.

Minimum 1 year of industrial maintenance experience.

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is an added advantage.

SKM, Vocational Certificate, or Diploma in Mechatronics/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is a plus.

Manufacturing background is an added advantage.

Based in Penang or willing to commute daily to facility in Kawasan Perindustrian Bukit Minyak, Simpang Ampat.
