Job summary

REAL SCHOOL JOHOR BAHRU is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Supervisor to lead the facilities team at the school. You will oversee preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and asset management to ensure safe, compliant, and well-maintained school facilities.

Reporting to the Head of Administration & Operations, you will coordinate repairs, monitor SOP and ISO procedures, manage security systems, and support school activities and events.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance in and around school facilities.
• Repairs building and equipment under supervision of licensed staff.
• Maintains mechanical equipment and inspects air-conditioning.
• Repairs windows, doors, locks, and blinds.
• Handles fixtures in restrooms, labs, and classrooms.
• Troubleshoots minor plumbing and electrical issues.
• Completes equipment maintenance checklists and logs.
• Repairs electrical panels and security systems.
• Responds to emergency maintenance and renovation tasks.
• Maintains records of scheduled maintenance weekly.
• Applies SOP and ISO procedures in maintenance work.
• Monitors security guard tour system.
• Rounds the campus to check fence integrity.
• Manages school property inventory.
• Oversees hostel facilities maintenance and safety.
• Provides logistics support for events.
• Manages community use of school site.
• Assists with campus risk assessment and OSHA compliance.
• Ensures Fire Life Safety requirements and training.
• Executes additional duties as assigned.

Responsible for leading the maintenance team to provide facilities maintenances & preventive support to the school, under the guidance of the Head of Administration & Operations. The duties include leading the team, maintaining the good conditions of school facilities and property, conducting minor repairs to the structure and responding to requests from the end-users

Roles and responsibilities

• 1. Performs preventative maintenance in and around the school facilities.
• 2. Performs minor and major repair of all building and equipments (Major repairs are performed under the supervision of licensed maintenance workers).
• 3. Performs preventative maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects air-cond, replace broken tiles, repairs and replace broken furniture.
• 4. Replace broken windows; repairs doors, door locks and closer, doors knobs and install window blinds.
• 5. Performs various maintenance and custodial duties such as installation and repair to fixtures in restrooms, labs and classrooms.
• 6. Troubleshoots and repairs minor plumbing and electrical problems; replaces a variety of bulbs and other electrical accessories.
• 7. Completes daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
• 8. Repairs electrical equipment and control circuits, replaces faulty electrical switches, electrical locks and control panels to maintain building security.
• 9. Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required, assists with the renovation/ remodeling of buildings, repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures.
• 10. Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures and submit maintenance weekly report.
• 11. Ensure to apply Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and ISO procedures in delivering the maintenance assistance and keep record of performed duty accordingly.
• 12. Monitoring the Security Guard Tour System
• 13. Rounding school compound to ensure school fence has no hole.
• 14. School property inventory and management.
• 15. Taking care of the facilities and maintenance of the school hostel, ensure it is in good and safe condition at all times.
• 16. Providing logistics support for school activities, excursions and functions such as Open Day, Sports Day, Parents-Teachers Conference and etc.
• 17. Manage community use of school site.
• 18. Assist with campus risk assessment and ensure OSHA compliance
• 19. Ensure the school fulfills the requirement of Fire Life Safety, lead the fire life safety team, and perform necessary FLS training for the school from time to time
• 20. All other duties as assigned and appropriate.
