Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join SOL Polymers Sdn Bhd in Perai, Penang. This full-time role focuses on ensuring reliability and efficiency of our polymer manufacturing equipment and facilities, through preventative and corrective maintenance activities.

You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, and maintain detailed logs while collaborating with production teams to minimise downtime and support continuous improvements in performance and safety.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on production machinery and equipment to minimise downtime and extend asset lifespan.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults to identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Execute corrective maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment, using appropriate tools and technical knowledge.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment, pipelines and infrastructure to identify potential issues before they escalate.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs and records, documenting all service activities and equipment performance metrics.
• Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities and minimise operational disruptions.
• Support the implementation and adherence to maintenance schedules and standard operating procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities.
• Assist in training junior maintenance staff and sharing technical knowledge with team members.

What we're looking for

• Diploma / Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prefer with EXTRUDING machine experience.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Preferably, experience in the polymers, plastics or chemical manufacturing industry
