Job summary

The GMP Group in Kuala Lumpur seeks a proactive Mainframe Solutions Specialist to drive technical customer engagement and POC activities. You will present mainframe features, guide POC planning and execution, and prepare compliant RFP/RFQ documentation for submission.

With 2–5 years in a mainframe environment and a CS/IT degree, you will install and configure products for POCs, document results, and collaborate with sales, consultants, and vendors. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of working experience in a mainframe environment.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent.
• Strong presentation and communication skills—comfortable presenting to customers.
• Willingness to travel for customer meetings and engagements.
• Hands-on aptitude to install and configure mainframe products for POCs.

Responsibilities

• Run through mainframe product sales decks with customers, presenting features, benefits, and use cases clearly.
• Handle customer questions during presentations and follow up on technical queries with senior staff or product vendors.
• Support customer meetings and engagement activities throughout the sales cycle.
• Coordinate end-to-end POC activities — planning, environment prep, scheduling, and communications with customer and internal/vendor teams.
• Preferably implement POC hands-on: install, configure, and demonstrate use cases in customer/lab environments.
• Document POC results and present outcomes to the customer.
• Work on completing RFP/RFQ responses with technical write-ups, compliance responses, and solution descriptions.
• Coordinate inputs from sales, senior consultants, and product vendors to ensure complete responses.
• Learn and maintain basic implementation knowledge of mainframe products in the portfolio.
• Where required, perform simple implementations of products for customers or internal environments to support sales.
• Participate in product training, vendor enablement sessions, and certification programs.
