DXC Technology in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Mainframe System Programmer for z/OS to maintain, install, document and customize the mainframe operating system and installed software. The role requires diagnosing system and performance problems and implementing configuration changes.

You will collaborate with z/OS administrators, coordinate vendor software maintenance, and participate in DR planning to ensure continued operational availability of critical workloads across client environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 10+ years of experience in this role.
• Solid z/OS installation and maintenance.
• Proficient in JCL, REXX, and HLASM.
• Experience with installation and maintenance of IBM and third-party software.

Responsabilités

• Provide technical support to clients and other clients service lines.
• Perform z/OS systems programming activities and coordinate project resources needed to complete software maintenance and installation schedules.
• Ensure software is operating at supported and optimized levels.
• Work with z/OS administrators to analyze and resolve root cause issues.
• Provide on-call support as required for products supported by the team.
• Plan, support and manage the installation and execution of infrastructure and vendor supplied software products for the mainframe environment.
• Partake in planning and establishing of best practices for the z/OS vendor product environments.
• Analyze technical system changes and improvements made to the system software in order to determine impacts related to existing systems and guarantee continued operations and availability of systems.
