Job summary

Oxydata Software Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced L3 Support Mainframe Developer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. You will provide production support and development for Cardlink applications, focusing on COBOL and CICS in a banking context.

You will work onsite with a team to analyze incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and ensure reliable batch processing via JCL, VSAM datasets, and z/OS environments. A Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of mainframe experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline.
• Legal right to work in Malaysia; no visa sponsorship.
• 3–5 years in mainframe development and support.
• At least 4 years COBOL and CICS experience.
• Experience with Mainframe z/OS, VSAM, and sequential datasets.
• Experience in Cardlink development and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide L3 production support and technical assistance for Mainframe/Cardlink applications.
• Develop, maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot applications using COBOL and CICS.
• Analyse production incidents, defects, and application issues, performing root-cause analysis and implementing solutions.
• Develop and maintain JCL for batch processing and application execution.
• Work with VSAM and sequential datasets for data processing and troubleshooting.
• Support testing, deployment, release, and delivery activities.
• Participate in full SDLC including requirements analysis, development, and post-production support.
• Collaborate with QA, application support, business, infrastructure, and other teams to resolve issues.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation and support procedures.
• Ensure production changes are implemented safely per controls.

We are seeking an experienced L3 Support Mainframe Developer to provide application support and development services for Cardlink applications in the Cards domain.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production changes are implemented safely and in accordance with established controls and procedures.

Requirements

Must-have:

• Bachelor’s degree in any related discipline.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Mainframe application development and support.


• At least 4 years of hands‑on experience developing applications using COBOL and CICS.


• Strong experience with Mainframe z/OS environments.


• Experience working with VSAM and sequential datasets.


• Experience with Cardlink development and delivery.


• Experience in the banking or financial services sector.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with REXX scripting in mainframe environments.


• Familiarity with IBM DB2 database management on z/OS.


• Experience supporting mission‑critical banking applications with 24/7 uptime requirements.


• Good understanding of SDLC processes and software delivery practices.
