Job summary

Smartlink Engineering Sdn Bhd is expanding its Tool Shop team and seeks an experienced Senior Executive – CNC Machining to oversee CNC activities, assist programming and drive process improvements. The role emphasizes achieving quality, productivity and on-time delivery through technical leadership and collaboration with QC and other departments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience.
• Strong experience in CNC Milling and/or CNC Turning.
• Good knowledge of CNC programming, tooling and machining parameters.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor daily CNC machining activities.
• Support CNC programming, machine setup and process optimisation.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications and machining requirements.
• Select cutting tools, tooling and machining parameters.
• Troubleshoot CNC machining and quality issues.
• Monitor machine utilisation, productivity, cycle time and downtime.
• Ensure machined components meet specifications and tolerances.
• Work with QC and other departments to resolve issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve machining efficiency and tool life.
• Provide guidance to CNC machinists and operators.
• Support continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
• Prepare production and machining performance reports.

Smartlink Engineering Sdn Bhd is a Malaysian contract manufacturing company serving the semiconductor and high-technology industries. We specialise in cable harness and wire assembly, control boxes and panels, electrical and mechanical module assembly, precision tooling, and system integration.

As part of our continued growth and expansion, we are strengthening our Tool Shop team and looking for an experienced Senior Executive – CNC Machining to support our CNC machining operations, process improvement and technical development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing CNC machining activities, supporting CNC programming and process optimisation, troubleshooting machining issues, and ensuring production targets are achieved in terms of quality, productivity and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor daily CNC machining activities.
• Support CNC programming, machine setup and process optimisation.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications and machining requirements.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, tooling and machining parameters.
• Troubleshoot CNC machining and quality issues.
• Monitor machine utilisation, productivity, cycle time and downtime.
• Ensure machined components meet required specifications and tolerances.
• Work closely with QC and other departments to resolve production issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve machining efficiency, tool life and productivity.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to CNC machinists and operators.
• Support continuous improvement, 5S and safety initiatives.
• Prepare production and machining performance reports.

Requirements :

• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Machining Technology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant CNC machining experience.
• Strong experience in CNC Milling and/or CNC Turning.
• Good knowledge of CNC programming, tooling and machining parameters.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Good understanding of precision machining and dimensional inspection.
• Experience with CAM software is an added advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in supervising or guiding CNC machinists/operators is preferred.
• Able to work independently and under production deadlines.
