Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Machinist to produce machined parts by operating various machines while upholding quality and safety standards. You will assist in setting up machines and converting work orders to ensure smooth production flow, and operate CNC lathe machines with attention to daily targets.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. The role requires basic math, reading blueprints, and GD&T knowledge, with opportunities to develop in rolling and grinding operations and 5S practices

Qualifications

• Must have SPM/High School Diploma or SKM certificates in a related field, or equivalent qualification.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with rolling and grinding machines is a plus.
• Able to read blueprints and have basic GD&T knowledge.
• Able to operate manual cutting and fabrication tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in machine setup and conversion of work orders to ensure smooth production flow.
• Operate CNC Auto & Manual lathe machines, including loading/unloading parts, to meet daily targets.
• Perform machine adjustments to maintain accuracy and consistency.
• Inspect finished parts for quality in line with SPC standards.
• Conduct daily and monthly preventive maintenance on assigned machines.
• Support other production areas to improve overall efficiency.
• Keep workspace organized following 5S principles.

The Machinist is responsible for producing machined parts by operating various machines while maintaining quality and safety standards.

The Job:

• Assist in machine setup and conversion of work orders to ensure smooth production flow.
• Operate CNC Auto & Manual lathe machines, including handling part loading and unloading, while meeting daily production targets.
• Perform machine adjustments when required to maintain accuracy and consistency.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure quality compliance in line with SPC (Statistical Process Control) standards.
• Conduct daily and monthly preventive maintenance on assigned machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Support other production areas when necessary to achieve overall operational efficiency
• Do 5S on Working area.

We are looking for:

• SPM, High School Diploma, SKM certificates in a related field, or equivalent qualification.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in operating Rolling and Grinding machines will be an added advantage.
• Able to do inspection using measuring equipment (caliper, micrometer, profile projector, contracer, gauge etc)
• Able to operate manual cutting and fabrication tools such as bench saw, sanding machine, and other related equipment.
• Physically fit and able to handle heavy lifting when required.
• Basic mathematics and computer skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and new assignments given by superiors.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach.
• Willingness to learn and explore new skills.
• Independent, with good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to read blueprints and basic knowledge of GD&T.
