QUETTA BYTE SDN. BHD. seeks an experienced hardware technician to diagnose and repair GPU and AI servers. You will travel to sites with spare parts, perform component replacements, and recover systems while maintaining detailed repair logs.
The role demands hands-on skills in server architecture, BIOS/BMC/IPMI tasks, and the use of GPU tools to verify function. 2+ years of relevant experience is required, with strong teamwork and pressure tolerance.
1. Receive and coordinate server fault reports, liaising with customers and the Operations & Maintenance team to conduct preliminary fault diagnosis and develop appropriate on-site repair plans.
2. Carry necessary spare parts and tools to the site to perform routine hardware troubleshooting, component replacement, and system recovery, ensuring timely and effective fault resolution.
3. Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records, documenting fault details, troubleshooting processes, and repair outcomes. Provide relevant repair data and updates to the Quality, Technical, and other relevant departments.
4. Coordinate with the Chip Repair, TE, and RMA teams to ensure proper handover of faulty equipment and support the subsequent handling and resolution of complex hardware issues.
1. At least 2 years of experience in server, storage, network equipment, or computer hardware repair and maintenance.
2. Candidates with experience in GPU servers or AI server repair and maintenance will have an added advantage.
1. Good understanding of x86 server architecture, with knowledge of the operating principles and troubleshooting methods for key components such as GPU cards, CPUs, memory, hard drives, RAID cards, network cards, power supplies, and other hardware components.
2. Familiar with GPU server assembly and disassembly procedures, with the ability to independently perform GPU card replacement, cooling module removal and installation, high-power power supply replacement, and other hardware maintenance tasks.
3. Familiar with server BIOS, BMC, and IPMI firmware configuration and troubleshooting. Able to identify common hardware faults through system and hardware logs.
4. Experience in the repair and maintenance of liquid-cooled GPU servers, including cold-plate and immersion cooling systems, will be an added advantage.
5. Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, with the ability to use GPU stress-testing and diagnostic tools such as nvidia-smi, gpu-burn, and CUDA test programs for functional verification.
6. Knowledge of server maintenance and management tools such as PXE and Remote KVM will be an added advantage.
7. Strong hands-on technical skills, logical thinking, and the ability to independently analyze and resolve hardware issues.
8. Detail-oriented, with good maintenance record-keeping and technical documentation skills.
9. Able to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced working environment.
