Job summary

GT-MAX CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD is seeking an M&E site engineer to plan, coordinate, and monitor all M&E works at construction sites. The role involves reviewing drawings and contract docs, supervising electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and ELV systems, and coordinating with consultants, clients, and authorities.

You will ensure compliance with drawings, safety regs, and method statements; conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning; and prepare progress reports, RFIs, and schedules.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in M&E construction or building services.
• Familiar with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting and ELV systems.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and shop drawings.
• Willing to travel or be based at construction sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor all M&E works at construction sites.

Job description

Plan, coordinate, and monitor all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works at construction sites.

Review M&E drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Supervise site progress for electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems, ELV systems, and other M&E services.

Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and relevant authorities on M&E matters.

Ensure all M&E works are executed according to approved drawings, method statements, and safety regulations.

Conduct site inspections, testing, and commissioning of M&E systems.

Prepare progress reports, site documentation, RFIs, work schedules, and material submissions.

Monitor project schedules, manpower, and material requirements to ensure timely completion.

Troubleshoot technical issues and provide engineering solutions during project execution.

Ensure quality assurance and compliance with local authority standards (TNB, BOMBA, JKR, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, etc.)

Attend site meetings, project coordination meetings, and technical discussions.

Support project handover, defect rectification, and maintenance coordination.

Perform any other tasks assigned by the superior or Head of Department (HOD) as needed.

Job Requirements

Must possess at least a Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related field.

Minimum 2–5 years of working experience in M&E construction or building services industry.

Familiar with M&E systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV systems.

Able to read and interpret technical drawings, shop drawings, and construction plans.

Able to work independently and under tight project deadlines.

Willing to travel or be based at construction sites when required.
