Job summary

Yu Tong Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced M&E Coordinator for contract work in Penang. The role involves coordinating and managing mechanical and electrical installations across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with designs, schedules, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of M&E coordination experience, strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, and the ability to read M&E drawings.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in M&E coordination or supervision on construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems including HVAC, fire fighting, power distribution, and lighting design.
• Ability to read and interpret M&E drawings and specifications.
• Experience with construction management software and AutoCAD or similar tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work on-site and adapt to project schedules.
• Preferably certified in relevant M&E coordination or quality assurance qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor all mechanical and electrical installations on site, ensuring compliance with approved designs and specifications.
• Liaise between the M&E contractors, design consultants, and project management teams to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving.
• Review and verify M&E drawings, schedules, and technical documentation prior to implementation.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
• Maintain comprehensive records of M&E work, including daily reports, testing certificates, and commissioning documentation.
• Coordinate with other trades to ensure proper sequencing and avoid clashes or delays.
• Identify and elevate issues, discrepancies, or deviations to project management and recommend corrective actions.
• Support the coordination of M&E testing, commissioning, and handover procedures.
• Ensure all M&E installations meet relevant Malaysian standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of project specifications and provide technical support to site teams.

This is a contract position that plays a crucial role in coordinating and managing mechanical and electrical systems across our construction projects. As M&E Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless integration of all mechanical and electrical components, overseeing compliance with technical specifications, and liaising between design teams, contractors, and site personnel. This role is essential to maintaining project timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols throughout the construction phase.
