Scope of Position
The M&E Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and monitoring daily site installation activities for mechanical and electrical systems. The role encompasses pre-site preparation, detailed scheduling, equipment and manpower planning, strict safety compliance, daily site execution tracking, stakeholder liaison, and comprehensive documentation to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and up to required specifications
Job Responsibilities:
Act as the primary technical point of contact on-site with clients, sub-contractors, and internal site teams regarding site installation requirements, safety protocols, and compliance needs (e.g., scaffolding green tags, skylift with chaser, Site Safety Supervisor compliance).
Ensure immediate, same-day resolution of any operational or compliance issues on site.
2. Site Installation Planning & Daily Scheduling:
Develop detailed site installation plans (Gantt charts) including daily activities, manpower allocation, machinery schedules, and target milestone dates.
Submit schedules to the Senior Project Engineer for review at least one week prior to site mobilisation.
3. Pre-Site & Safety Documentation Preparation:
Complete all pre-site installation checklists, Method Statements, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Job Method Statements (JMS).
Compile worker name lists, CIDB green cards, and passport copies.
Prepare and submit HIRARC documentation and coordinate safety induction sessions with client HSSE teams prior to work commencement.
4. Site Equipment & Machinery Planning:
Formulate pre-installation equipment and machinery arrangements (e.g., scaffolding, skylifts, cranes) in coordination with the Site Supervisor and submit plans to the Project Engineer one week prior to mobilisation.
5. Manpower & Resource Management:
Plan and manage weekly site manpower requirements with the Site Supervisor.
Prepare and submit weekly manpower forecasts to the Project Engineer every Monday.
6. Detail Installation Monitoring & Quality Control:
Inspect and verify each step of site installation against approved Method Statements and engineering drawings.
Identify and log non-conformances immediately and instruct the Site Supervisor on prompt corrective actions.
7. Site Status Tracking & Daily/Weekly Progress Reporting:
Monitor daily progress, gather real-time data on manpower, machinery status, and progress photos.
Conduct direct on-site info gathering if no Site Supervisor is allocated.
Submit consolidated site installation progress updates to the Project Engineer every Wednesday.
Ensure daily site reports with progress photos are uploaded to the project group daily by 6:00 PM.
8. Project Meetings:
Attend weekly project-site meetings every Tuesday to present active project status updates, progress against schedules, and resolve operational challenges.
10. Documentation & Knowledge Base Management:
Maintain systematic filing of all project documentation, drawings, progress photos, manpower logs, and machinery records on company servers/drives.
Update Google Calendar and perform additional ad-hoc technical or site tasks assigned by superiors or management.
Background and Skills:
Min. Education:
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Min Experience:
1–3 years of hands‑on experience in M&E site execution, site supervision, or engineering site operations
Other Experience/Training/Qualifications:
Valid CIDB Green Card registration.
Safety certifications/training (e.g., Site Safety Supervisor (SSS), Safety Induction, HIRARC, JSA preparation).
Working knowledge of heavy site machinery and equipment (cranes, skylifts, scaffolding compliance).
Other Qualifications/Skills:
Good communication, analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong proficiency in project scheduling tools (Gantt chart, MS Project) and basic engineering drawings (AutoCAD).
Good communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with clients, sub-contractors, and internal engineering teams.
Proficient in Google Workspace (Google Calendar, Drive) and report preparation.
Proactive problem‑solving abilities, high safety awareness, and team coordination skills.
