Job summary

Hotayi Electronic (M) Sdn Bhd (Hotayi Group) is seeking an M&E Engineer to oversee monitoring of all M&E works on industrial projects. The role involves coordinating with sub-contractors, reviewing drawings, and preparing daily progress reports from Batu Kawan, Penang, Malaysia.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 2–3 years of experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years minimum experience on industrial projects.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MEP systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report progress of all M&E works.
• Coordinate with sub-contractors and monitor progress.
• Check drawings, specs, and shop drawings.
• Prepare daily reports, inspection records, and handover docs.
• Assist in testing and commissioning of M&E systems.
• Coordinate with other CS and Architectural works for sequencing.
• Review project requirements to identify missing or omitted works.
• Support project teams to ensure quality and schedule.

Job description

Responsibilities

• To monitor and report progress of all M&E works and activities
• In charge of all M&E related activities such as Aircon & Mechanical ventilation services, cold & hot water services, sanitary plumbing, firefighting services, electrical and MV & LV, and all other related M&E services
• Liaise sub-contractors including monitoring the progress and follow–up with sub-contractors on approved work.
• Check drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and site installation details.
• Prepare daily reports, inspection records, progress updates, and handover documents.
• Assist in testing and commissioning of M&E systems.
• To coordinate with other ongoing C&S and Architectural works to ensure proper sequencing and smooth execution of construction works
• Reviewing project requirement to identify missing, implied, or omitted works not reflected in the BoQ
• Supporting project teams in ensuring quality, and schedule are achieved

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 2-3 years working experience in industrial projects
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
• Managing job quality to ensure compliance
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Able to work independently with positive attitude.
• Good understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC cooling systems, HV/LV electrical distribution, UPS, generators, fire protection, plumbing, and ELV systems.
