Job summary

Pen Konsult Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineers to join our consultancy team. You will design mechanical and process services for buildings, and you will be trained to support senior engineers with drawings, calculations, and documentation.

Attend site meetings and coordinate with architects and clients to ensure designs meet safety, efficiency and quality standards. APE qualification pathway and travel may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
• 0–6 years of experience in MEP services including ACMV, Cleanroom, Fire Protection, BMS, and Electrical systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and good communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and own transport; planning to pursue PE qualification.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical and process services systems for buildings.
• Assist in detailed drawings, calculations, and documentation under guidance of senior engineers.
• Attend site meetings and provide construction support to ensure designs are implemented correctly.
• Coordinate regulatory submission drawings and ensure compliance with local authorities.
• Collaborate with internal teams, architects and clients for seamless project execution.
• Contribute to tender submissions and project costing; ensure safety, efficiency and quality.

M&E Consulting Design Mechanical Engineer and Electrical Engineer - 2 vacancy

This position is ideal for young engineers who aspire to develop their career in engineering consultancy and pursue registration as a Professional Engineer (PE). You will be trained and get involved in the design of ACMV, Cleanroom, BMS, Fire Protection, Lift Systems, Building Monitoring Systems (BMS), as well as DI and WWTP and Gas Handling Systems for industrial buildings.

Key responsibilities

Design of mechanical and process services system for buildings.

You will be trained and get involved in the design of ACMV, Cleanroom, BMS, Fire Protection, Lift Systems, Building Monitoring Systems(BMS), as well as DI and WWTP and Gas Handling Systems for industrial buildings.

Will support senior engineers (for those still need guidance) in preparing detailed drawings, technical calculations, and documentation.

Attend site meetings and provide support during construction to ensure designs are implemented as intended. Assist in resolving design engineering issue

Coordinate regulatory submission drawings and ensure compliance with local authorities.(i.e Bomba )

Work collaboratively with internal teams, architects, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.

Contribute to tender submissions and project costing.

Ensure all MEP designs meet safety, efficiency, and quality standards.

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

0 - 6 years of experience in MEP services including ACMV, Cleanroom, Fire Protection, BMS, and Electrical systems ( Salary will be commensurate based on experience)

Proficiency in AutoCAD

Good communication and team coordination skills

Proficiency in Mandarin

Internship or prior experience in consultancy or construction projects

Own transportation and willing to travel when required

Planning to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) qualification

Sabah or Sarawak engineers are encourage to apply
