Job summary

One Belian Seed PLT seeks a seasoned Engineering leader to head the Mechanical & Electrical Department. You will drive project execution, ensure compliance with schedules, budgets, and quality standards, and provide technical guidance to the team.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with PEPC qualification, 10+ years in the field, and strong leadership capabilities. Travel to project sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with PEPC qualification.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, 5+ years in a managerial/leadership role.
• PEPC registration with BEM highly preferred.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Department, ensuring efficient execution of all engineering functions and project deliverables.
• Plan, monitor, and ensure all M&E engineering activities are carried out in accordance with approved project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Review, verify, and approve detailed engineering designs, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation prepared by the team.
• Coordinate closely with internal departments and external consultants, including Architects, Civil & Structural (C&S) Engineers, Planning & Development teams, contractors, and relevant authorities to ensure seamless project execution.
• Attend project coordination meetings, technical discussions, consultant meetings, and site inspections to monitor project progress and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Ensure all M&E works are executed in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, statutory regulations, safety requirements, and company standards.
• Oversee the timely issuance and revision of engineering drawings and documents, ensuring all site changes are accurately incorporated into as-built drawings.
• Establish, implement, and continuously improve engineering procedures, technical standards, and best practices within the department.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, mentoring, and coaching to the M&E team to enhance competency and professional development.
• Identify engineering risks and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions to improve project quality, efficiency, and overall performance.
• Ensure compliance with the latest engineering codes, statutory requirements, local authority regulations, and industry best practices.
• Supervise employees and ensure compliance, administering disciplinary actions as required. Work being done properly and smooth.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and resource utilization while ensuring timely project delivery.
• Supervise departmental personnel, conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and administer disciplinary actions where necessary in accordance with company policies.
• Assist Management in strategic planning, departmental improvements, and other M&E-related initiatives.
• To assist in the overall M&E Department related matters.
• To perform any assignments that will be delegated by the CEO or Management from time to time.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with PEPC qualification.
• Minimum of 10 years' relevant working experience, preferably in the property development, construction, or engineering industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Possession of a valid Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate (PEPC) registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is highly preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge in M&E system design, engineering calculations, project management and statutory compliance.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and perform effectively under pressure.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, planning, and decision-making skills.
• Willing to travel to project sites and work beyond normal working hours when required.
• Competency in Presentation skill and Model Making
• Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and good command in Mandarin will be an added advantage.
