Job summary

GMT Consultants Sdn Bhd is seeking an M&E Draftsperson to prepare detailed M&E drawings using AutoCAD and related software. The role involves creating mechanical and electrical drawings, layouts, and details for building services, and supporting engineers with drafting tasks.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Certificate in M&E or related field, with 1–2 years of drafting experience, and is proficient in AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services or related field.
• 1–2 years of M&E drafting experience preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM is a plus.
• Able to read and interpret M&E drawings and specs.
• Strong knowledge of M&E building services.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed M&E drawings using AutoCAD and drafting software.
• Create mechanical and electrical drawings, layouts, schematics and details.
• Assist engineers in preparing drawings for M&E building services and systems.
• Update drawings per engineers' comments and project needs.
• Ensure drawings comply with specs, standards and authority requirements.
• Coordinate M&E drawings with architectural, structural and other engineering disciplines.
• Prepare drawing submissions, shop drawings, as-built drawings and other technical documentation.
• Maintain filing and documentation of drawings and project records.
• Liaise with engineers, project teams, contractors on drawing-related matters.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed M&E drawings using AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software
• Prepare mechanical and electrical drawings, layouts, schematics and details based on project requirements
• Assist engineers in preparing drawings for M&E building services and systems
• Update and revise drawings according to engineers' comments and project requirements
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, relevant standards and authority requirements
• Coordinate M&E drawings with architectural, structural and other engineering disciplines
• Prepare drawing submissions, shop drawings, as-built drawings and other technical documentation when required
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of drawings and project records
• Liaise with engineers, project teams, contractors and other relevant parties on drawing-related matters

About you

• Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services or related field
• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in M&E drafting is preferred
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Knowledge of Revit/BIM is an added advantage
• Able to read and understand M&E engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Good knowledge of M&E building services
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good attention to detail and able to meet project deadlines
