Job summary

GMT Consultants Sdn Bhd is seeking a detail-oriented M&E Draftsman to prepare detailed M&E drawings using AutoCAD and related software. You will support engineers in creating mechanical and electrical layouts, schematics and drawings for building services and systems.

The role requires 1–2 years of M&E drafting experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, and reading technical specs. Revit/BIM knowledge is a plus and you should be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Building Services.
• 1–2 years of M&E drafting experience preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Revit/BIM is an added advantage.
• Able to read and understand M&E drawings and specs.
• Good attention to detail and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed M&E drawings using AutoCAD and other drafting software
• Prepare mechanical and electrical drawings, layouts, schematics and details based on project requirements
• Assist engineers in preparing drawings for M&E building services and systems
• Update and revise drawings according to engineers' comments and project requirements
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, relevant standards and authority requirements
• Coordinate M&E drawings with architectural, structural and other engineering disciplines
• Prepare drawing submissions, shop drawings, as-built drawings and other technical documentation when required
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of drawings and project records
• Liaise with engineers, project teams, contractors and other relevant parties on drawing-related matters

Key responsibilities

About you

Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services or related field

Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in M&E drafting is preferred

Proficient in AutoCAD

Knowledge of Revit/BIM is an added advantage

Able to read and understand M&E engineering drawings and technical specifications

Good knowledge of M&E building services

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Good attention to detail and able to meet project deadlines
