Job summary

WBL Perunding Sdn Bhd, based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, is seeking an experienced Senior M&E Draughtsman to join its engineering team. You will design and document mechanical and electrical systems for diverse projects, translating concepts into precise drawings guiding construction across project phases.

You will lead drawing production for HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution and fire safety, mentor junior staff, coordinate with engineers, and ensure compliance with Malaysian codes.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of M&E draughting experience in consulting engineering or construction.
• Advanced AutoCAD skills with 2D/3D bid/tender drawings.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution and fire safety design.
• Understanding of Malaysian building codes and M&E standards.
• Detail-oriented with high-precision drawings.
• Strong communication and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience managing multiple projects may be required.
• Diploma or degree in relevant engineering disciplines; professional certification is a plus.

WBL Perunding Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Senior M&E Draughtman to join our engineering team. This is a full-time position based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. As Senior M&E Draughtman, you will play a crucial role in the design and documentation of mechanical and electrical systems for our diverse range of projects. This position is integral to ensuring that our technical designs are accurately translated into comprehensive drawings that guide construction and implementation across all project phases.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed mechanical and electrical drawings using CAD software in accordance with project specifications and industry standards
• Develop and maintain drawing schedules, sections, and installation details for building services systems
• Collaborate with engineers to translate design concepts into technical / tender / construction drawings
• Review and quality-check drawings for accuracy, consistency and compliance with relevant codes and regulations
• Assist in coordinating M&E drawings to ensure seamless integration
• Mentor and guide junior draughtsmen in drawing preparation and CAD best practices
• Update and revise drawings based on client feedback, site conditions and project requirements
• Maintain comprehensive drawing libraries and project documentation systems

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 8-10 years of experience as an M&E Draughtsman in a consulting engineering or construction environment
• Advanced proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD with experience in 2D and 3D design
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems design, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution and fire safety systems
• Thorough understanding of building codes, standards and regulations relevant to M&E design in Malaysia
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality technical drawings
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining quality standards
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities for junior team members
• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline
• Professional certification or membership with relevant engineering bodies is an advantage
