Job summary

Woh Hup Group in Selangor, Malaysia is seeking an experienced M&E Manager to lead and oversee all M&E works on our construction projects. You will coordinate with consultants, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery, safety, and adherence to project specifications and budgets.

The role requires a strong track record with main contractors on large-scale commercial, data centre, or industrial developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of M&E experience in construction.
• Experience with Main Contractors; large-scale projects (commercial, data centres, mixed developments, industrial facilities).
• Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with local authority guidelines and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage M&E design coordination, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Review M&E shop drawings, technical submissions, and method statements.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to integrate M&E with architectural and structural elements.
• Monitor progress against project timelines and report to the Project Manager.
• Enforce safety standards across all M&E works.
• Review and approve M&E progress claims, variation orders, and cost control measures.
• Conduct site inspections to verify work compliance with design and specifications.
• Drive resolution of M&E-related technical or site issues that arise during construction.
• Manage handover and commissioning documentation for M&E systems (O&M manuals, as-builts, warranties).
• Liaise with authorities on submission and approval of M&E systems when required.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) Manager to lead and oversee all M&E works across our construction projects. As part of the main contractor’s site management team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering M&E systems according to project specifications, schedules, safety standards, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage M&E design coordination, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Review and verify all M&E shop drawings, technical submissions, and method statements.
• Coordinate closely with consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams to ensure integration of M&E services with architectural and structural elements.
• Monitor progress of M&E works against project timelines and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
• Enforce quality control, health, and safety standards across all M&E works.
• Review and approve M&E progress claims, variation orders, and cost control measures.
• Conduct site inspections to verify work compliance with design, code, and specifications.
• Drive the resolution of any M&E-related technical or site issues that arise during construction.
• Manage handover and commissioning documentation for M&E systems, including O&M manuals, as-builts, and warranties.
• Liaise with authorities on submission and approval of M&E systems when required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience in M&E works within construction industry.
• Experience with Main Contractors is essential; involvement in large-scale projects such as commercial buildings, data centres, mixed developments, or industrial facilities is highly advantageous.
• Strong technical knowledge in both mechanical and electrical systems.
• Excellent coordination, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
• Familiarity with local authority guidelines, safety regulations, and building codes.
• Proficient in project management tools and MS Office applications.
