Qualifications

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Lorry Driver to join the team at HORIZONTECH INDUSTRIES SDN BHD. This is a full-time position based in Perai, Penang. As a Lorry Driver, you will play a crucial role in our road transport operations, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods to customers across various locations. This position is essential to maintaining our reputation for reliable and professional logistics services and directly contributes to the success of our business.

What you'll be doing

• Operating and manoeuvring heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) safely and efficiently to transport cargo to designated destinations


• Planning and following designated routes whilst adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations


• Conducting pre-journey and post-journey vehicle inspections to ensure the lorry is in good working condition


• Loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution


• Maintaining accurate logbooks, delivery documentation and vehicle maintenance records


• Communicating with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays


• Adhering to all health and safety regulations, company policies and relevant transport legislation


• Reporting any vehicle defects, accidents or incidents promptly to management


• Maintaining professional standards and providing excellent customer service during deliveries

What we're looking for

• Valid HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) licence appropriate to the vehicles operated


• Minimum 2 years' experience as a professional lorry driver

• Knowledge of road safety regulations and adherence to driving hour restrictions


• Physical fitness and ability to load/unload cargo safely

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance checks


• Professional attitude with a commitment to customer service


• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning


• Previous experience with logistic companies or similar transport operations is preferred
