Qualifications

• Valid HGV licence appropriate to vehicles operated.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a professional lorry driver.
• Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
• Knowledge of road safety regulations and driving hour restrictions.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy goods vehicles safely and efficiently to transport cargo to designated destinations.
• Plan routes and follow designated routes while adhering to traffic laws.
• Conduct pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections.
• Load and unload cargo with proper securing and weight distribution.
• Maintain accurate logs, delivery documents and vehicle maintenance records.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and delays.
