Qualifications

• A valid Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) licence or equivalent for lorry operations.
• 2–3 years of professional lorry driving in goods transport or logistics.
• Knowledge of traffic laws, road safety and vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to plan routes and manage time to hit deadlines.
• Clean driving record with no serious violations or accidents.
• Capability to lift up to 50 kg and handle cargo safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain lorries in safe, roadworthy condition with pre/post-journey checks.
• Plan efficient delivery routes to meet deadlines and SLAs.
• Load, unload and secure cargo, ensure weight distribution and safety.
• Keep accurate records of miles, fuel, deliveries and incidents.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers on delivery status.
• Follow traffic laws, safety rules and company policies on roads.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report defects.
• Handle food/refrigerated goods following health and safety standards.
• Build professional relationships with customers through courteous service.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Lorry Driver to join the team at FUTURE FOOD SDN. BHD. in Gelang Patah, Johor. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of our logistics operations. As a Lorry Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods across various routes, ensuring that our products reach customers in perfect condition. This role is crucial to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the food logistics industry and directly contributes to the success of our business operations.

What you'll be doing

• Operating and maintaining lorries in safe and roadworthy condition, conducting pre-journey and post-journey vehicle inspections
• Planning and executing efficient delivery routes to meet customer deadlines and service level agreements
• Loading, unloading and securing cargo safely, ensuring compliance with weight distribution and safety regulations
• Maintaining accurate records of miles travelled, fuel consumption, delivery times and any incidents or damages
• Communicating with dispatch centres and customers to provide updates on delivery status and address any concerns
• Following all traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies whilst operating vehicles on public roads
• Performing basic vehicle maintenance and reporting any mechanical issues or defects promptly
• Handling food products in compliance with health and safety standards, maintaining appropriate storage temperatures where required
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers through professional and courteous service

What we're looking for

• A valid Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) licence or equivalent commercial driving licence appropriate for lorry operations
• A minimum of 2-3 years of professional lorry driving experience in goods transport or logistics
• Full knowledge of traffic laws, road safety regulations and vehicle maintenance requirements
• Excellent time management and route planning abilities to ensure punctual deliveries
• A clean driving record with no serious traffic violations or accidents
• Strong physical fitness and the ability to safely lift and handle cargo weighing up to 50kg repeatedly
• Attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate delivery documentation and records
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude towards work
• Experience in food or refrigerated goods transport would be advantageous
• First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it would be desirable
