Soong Yuan Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Lorry Driver to join our transporter team in Kota Marudu, Sabah. This full-time role focuses on delivering goods safely and on time while maintaining vehicles and records and coordinating with dispatch and clients.

We value reliability, punctuality and strong customer service. The successful candidate will have a GDL and at least 1 year of road transport experience, with knowledge of Kota Marudu routes or a willingness to learn quickly.

Qualifications

• Valid Goods Driving Licence (GDL) is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a professional lorry driver in road transport.
• Excellent knowledge of local and national traffic laws and load management.
• Strong mechanical understanding to identify and report maintenance issues.
• Reliability, punctuality and a focus on customer service.
• Familiarity with Kota Marudu area or willingness to learn routes.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heavy goods vehicles in compliance with traffic regulations and safety standards.

About the role Soong Yuan Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Lorry Driver to join our growing transporter team. This is a full-time position covering in Kota Marudu, Kota Belud Sabah. As a Lorry Driver, you will play a crucial role in our operations, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods to our clients. Your responsibility will directly impact our reputation for reliability and customer satisfaction in the road transport industry.

What you'll be doing

Operating and maintaining heavy goods vehicles in compliance with all traffic regulations and safety standards

Planning and executing delivery routes efficiently to meet scheduled deadlines and customer requirements

Conducting pre-journey and post-journey vehicle inspections to ensure the lorry is in optimal working condition

Maintaining accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, delivery times and any incidents or vehicle issues

Communicating effectively with dispatch, customers and other team members to provide updates on delivery status

Adhering to weight restrictions, load limits and all road transport regulations

Maintaining a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior

Reporting any mechanical problems or safety concerns promptly to management

What we're looking for

MUST HAVE Valid Goods Driving Licence (GDL)

Minimum of 1 year experience as a professional lorry driver in road transport

Excellent knowledge of local and national traffic laws, road safety regulations and load management requirements

Strong mechanical understanding to recognize and report vehicle maintenance issues
