About the role We are seeking a reliable and experienced Lorry Driver to join Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad in the Miri Division, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in our agricultural operations, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of goods and materials across our facilities and to designated destinations. As a Lorry Driver, you will be responsible for maintaining vehicle safety standards, adhering to all traffic regulations, and delivering products on time whilst maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and customer service.
Operate and maintain lorries in safe working condition, conducting pre-journey and post-journey vehicle checks
Transport oil palm products, materials and goods to designated locations within agreed timeframes
Plan and execute efficient routes to minimise fuel consumption and delivery times
Ensure all cargo is properly loaded, secured and unloaded in accordance with safety standards and company procedures
Maintain accurate records of journeys, fuel usage, vehicle maintenance and any incidents or damages
Adhere strictly to traffic regulations, speed limits and all applicable health and safety legislation
Communicate effectively with dispatch teams, supervisors and customers regarding delivery status and any issues
Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks and report any mechanical issues promptly
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct professional interactions with customers and colleagues
What we're looking for Valid Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) or Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) driving licence for Malaysia, with a clean driving record
Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a lorry or truck driver
Demonstrable knowledge of vehicle maintenance and ability to identify and report mechanical issues
Strong understanding of road safety regulations and traffic laws in Malaysia
Physical fitness and ability to perform loading and unloading duties as required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliability, punctuality and a commitment to health and safety standards
Familiarity with agricultural products and oil palm industry operations is advantageous
