Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Logistics Specialist to manage end-to-end logistics operations for our critical infrastructure projects in Malaysia. You will coordinate sea/air freight, customs clearance, and local transport to ensure safe, cost-effective, and on-time delivery of materials.

The role requires 5+ years in logistics, proficiency in multiple freight modes, and excellent English communication with overseas agents and suppliers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on logistics experience with proficiency in at least two areas (Sea Freight, Air Freight, Customs Clearance, or Warehousing).
• Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English to communicate with overseas agents, customs officers, and international suppliers.
• Strong familiarity with Malaysian customs regulations, tariff codes, and import/export documentation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee sea and air freight bookings, import/export customs clearance, local inland transportation, and warehouse operations.
• Align site schedules with supply chain logistics to guarantee timely arrival of materials; fulfill urgent shipment requests from site engineers.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with local freight forwarders, Malaysian customs authorities, shipping lines, and trucking vendors.
• Drive cost efficiency through freight inquiries, market rate benchmarking, route optimization, and carrier selection.
• Maintain accurate logistics logs, regular reports, and KPI dashboards.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Logistics Management
• Oversee sea and air freight bookings, import/export customs clearance, local inland transportation, and warehouse operations.
• Supply Chain & Site Coordination
• Align site schedules with supply chain logistics to guarantee timely arrival of materials; fulfill urgent shipment requests from site engineers.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Relations
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with local freight forwarders, Malaysian customs authorities, shipping lines, and trucking vendors.
• Logistics Cost Optimization
• Drive cost efficiency through freight inquiries, market rate benchmarking, route optimization, and carrier selection.
• Reporting & KPI Tracking
• Maintain accurate logistics logs, regular reports, and key performance indicator (KPI) dashboards.

Requirements

• Experience
• 5+ years of hands‑on logistics experience (must be proficient in at least 2 areas: Sea Freight, Air Freight, Customs Clearance, or Warehousing).
• Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English to communicate directly with overseas agents, customs officers, and international suppliers.
• Strong familiarity with Malaysian customs regulations, tariff codes, and import/export documentation procedures.
• Preferred Qualifications (Plus)
• Experience in EPC engineering projects, heavy equipment, manufacturing, or overseas project logistics.
• Prior experience working within local Malaysian logistics or freight forwarding companies.
