Job summary

VAT Vakuumventile AG in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a results-driven Warehouse Leader to drive safe, efficient warehouse operations. You will oversee receiving, put-away, picking, kitting, staging, and shipping while improving material flow and KPIs.

The role requires 2–5 years in warehouse/logistics, strong leadership, and solid knowledge of WMS and ERP systems. You will partner with planning, production, quality, and suppliers to ensure reliable material movement.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in supply chain, logistics, operations, engineering, or related.
• 2–5 years in warehouse/logistics, ideally in manufacturing or high-volume ops.
• Proven warehouse leadership and people management experience.
• Strong knowledge of WMS, ERP/D365, inventory and material flow.

Responsibilities

• Maintain warehouse safety as top priority and ensure compliance with SOPs and 6S.
• Oversee daily activities: receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping.
• Drive end-to-end material flow and improve turnaround times.
• Own KPIs: on-time shipments, inventory accuracy, productivity, TPT.
• Plan manpower, shifts, overtime, equipment, and storage capacity.
• Ensure inventory accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Identify bottlenecks and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Planning, Production, Quality, Logistics and Suppliers.
• Identify risks, implement containment, perform root-cause analysis, execute actions.
• Set expectations for area leads and drive accountability for results.
• Lead warehouse improvement, expansion, capacity, automation projects.

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Safety & Compliance: Maintain warehouse safety as the #1 priority and ensure compliance with MHE, SOP, 6S, and regulatory requirements.
• Operational Execution: Ensure daily warehouse activities meet targets for receiving, put-away, picking, kitting, staging, shipment, and material movement.
• Material Flow & TPT: Drive end-to-end material flow and improve turnaround time (TPT) from receiving to material-on-stage.
• KPI & Performance: Own warehouse KPIs including Material on Stage by 7AM, daily shipment/volume target, inventory accuracy, productivity, TPT, and service level.
• Capacity & Resource Planning: Plan manpower, shifts, overtime, equipment, storage capacity, and transportation according to business demand and ramp requirements.
• Inventory Management: Ensure inventory accuracy, cycle count discipline, reconciliation, and timely resolution of inventory discrepancies.
• Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and lead continuous improvement, automation, layout optimization, and standard-work initiatives.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with Planning, Buyer, Production, Quality, Logistics, Customs, and Suppliers to ensure predictable material flow and execution.
• Escalation & Problem Solving: Quickly identify operational risks, establish containment, drive root-cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Leadership & Accountability: Set clear expectations for area owners and supervisors, review daily performance, and drive accountability for results.
• Drive projects related to warehouse improvement, expansion , capacity improvement , automation and material flow improvement projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 2-5 years of warehouse/logistics experience, preferably in a manufacturing or high-volume operation.
• Proven experience in warehouse leadership and people management.
• Strong knowledge of WMS, ERP/D365, inventory management, and material flow processes.
• Experience managing warehouse KPIs, TPT, productivity, capacity, and manpower planning.
• Knowledge of Lean, 6S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience in ramp-up, peak-volume, and urgent/expedite operations is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• MHE/warehouse safety knowledge and relevant certification is an advantage.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment and drive results through cross-functional teams.
