Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting a Logistics Outbound Manager in Malaysia to lead outbound logistics for a market-leading FMCG business. You will oversee transport planning, fleet utilisation, and oversee a team to ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries across multiple warehouse locations.

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, you will drive continuous improvement, optimise transportation costs, and collaborate with Sales, Warehouse and Supply Chain teams while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related discipline.
• Experience in outbound logistics or transportation management within FMCG is required.
• Strong understanding of modern trade distribution, including hypermarkets and distribution centres.
• Experience managing both owned fleet and third-party logistics operations.
• Strong analytics with transport planning, routing, and logistics cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end outbound transportation and distribution activities across multiple warehouse locations.
• Lead and develop a team responsible for transport planning, administration, and logistics execution.
• Optimise fleet utilisation and transportation efficiency across company-owned vehicles and 3PLs.
• Monitor transportation costs, delivery performance, vehicle utilisation, and service levels; identify opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate with Sales, Administration, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment.
• Manage delivery scheduling, customer requirements, and trade return activities.
• Build strong relationships with logistics service providers and ensure service standards are met.
• Analyse logistics performance data and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing outbound logistics operations, ensuring products are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with customer requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Analyse logistics performance data and develop initiatives to improve productivity, service levels, and operational efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement projects relating to transportation planning, distribution processes, and cost optimisation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant transportation regulations, safety requirements, and company standards.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in outbound logistics or transportation management within the FMCG industry.
• Strong understanding of modern trade distribution, including hypermarkets, supermarkets, distribution centres, and key retail customers.
• Experience managing both owned fleet and third-party logistics operations.
• Strong analytical capabilities with experience in transport planning, truck utilisation, routing, and logistics cost optimisation.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with commercial, warehouse, and supply chain stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Stable career track record with clear progression within logistics or supply chain functions.
• Experience using ERP, warehouse management, transportation management, and reporting systems will be advantageous.
