We are seeking a highly energetic, meticulous, motivated, and experienced Logistics Assistant Manager to oversee and manage our fleet of vehicles, transportation, and logistics operations, including the evacuations of our produce, in particular East Sabah. The role involves planning and optimizing delivery schedules, coordinating with internal teams and external service providers, and ensuring the timely and efficient movement of goods, including minimizing potential downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage day-to-day transportation and logistics operations to ensure timely and efficient movement of goods.
Plan and optimize delivery schedules, routing, and load management to improve operational efficiency.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external service providers to meet business and operational requirements including up-to-date and accurate administration of documents.
Supervise, manage and monitor the Company’s vehicles and machineries including third-party transport vendors, including performance, service quality, and cost efficiency.
Support contract discussions and cost negotiations with logistics service providers.
Track and control transportation costs, identifying opportunities for optimization and savings.
Ensure compliance with agreed service levels, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Develop and improve logistics processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
Analyze operational challenges and implement effective solutions to enhance performance.
Monitor inventory movement and support planning to maintain optimal stock levels.
Handle operational issues, discrepancies, and claims related to transportation activities.
Ensure smooth coordination across multiple operational sites.
Manage, track, and ensure timely vehicle maintenance, scheduled services, and repairs.
Ensure drivers’ licenses, vehicle documentation, and insurance are renewed on time.
Monitor drivers’ performance and track any traffic summons incurred.
Perform other duties as assigned by top management.
Key Requirements:
Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
Minimum 8–10 years of hands-on experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
Experience managing third-party vendors and transport operations.
Strong coordination, scheduling, and planning abilities are a must.
Able to work in a fast-paced and operationally driven environment, including reachable even beyond normal working hours, depending on the circumstances.
