Job summary

Din Tai Fung Malaysia is seeking a logistics and warehouse operations professional to plan and oversee inbound/outbound deliveries, coordinate transportation, and ensure product safety and compliance at our Kajang site.

The role includes supervising warehouse activities, monitoring inventory, and driving process improvements while collaborating with Purchasing, Operations, Finance, and Outlet teams. Mandarin would be a bonus for cross-team communication.

Qualifications

• Formal education in logistics or related field.
• Experience in logistics, warehouse, or supply chain operations.
• Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Mandarin language is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and monitoring inbound and outbound deliveries to all company outlets.
• Support transportation scheduling, route planning, truck utilization, and delivery coordination.
• Monitor daily delivery performance and ensure timely distribution of goods, food products, packaging materials, and equipment.
• Coordinate with suppliers, drivers, transporters, and internal departments to ensure smooth logistics operations.
• Assist in resolving delivery issues, delays, and operational complaints.
• Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch operations.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of dry, chilled, and frozen products according to company standards.
• Monitor inventory organization, labelling, stock rotation (FIFO), and warehouse cleanliness.
• Ensure warehouse staff comply with operational procedures and safety requirements.
• Assist in scheduling preventive maintenance for warehouse cold rooms and equipment to safeguard food safety.
• Coordinate routine servicing and inspections for delivery vehicles and material handling equipment.
• Liaise with external maintenance contractors to ensure timely repairs and cost-efficient servicing.
• Monitor general warehouse upkeep, pest control, waste management, and basic utility maintenance.
• Support safety, fire, and cleanliness standards aligned with Halal, HACCP, and local regulations.
• Assist in monitoring inventory accuracy and stock movement.
• Support stock count, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Ensure logistics and warehouse operations comply with SOPs and government regulations.
• Maintain accurate operational documentation and records.
• Supervise warehouse and logistics staff and provide on-the-job training.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Operations, Finance, and Outlet teams.
• Assist Manager in manpower planning and daily workforce allocation.
• Monitor operational KPIs and identify process improvements.
• Support cost control initiatives and reporting.
• Prepare operational reports for management review.

Warehouse Operations

• Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch operations.

• Ensure warehouse staff comply with operational procedures and safety requirements.

Facilities & Maintenance Coordination

• Cold Chain Maintenance: Assist in scheduling preventive maintenance for warehouse cold rooms, chillers, and refrigerated trucks to safeguard food safety and prevent spoilage.
• Equipment & Fleet Upkeep: Coordinate routine servicing, breakdowns, and statutory inspections (e.g., PUSPAKOM) for delivery vehicles and material handling equipment (forklifts/reach trucks).
• Vendor Coordination: Liaise with external maintenance contractors, technicians, and service providers to ensure timely repairs and cost-efficient servicing.
• Facility Housekeeping: Monitor general warehouse upkeep, including pest control schedules, waste management, and basic utility maintenance, to ensure a hygienic working environment.
• Compliance Support: Support the department in adhering to safety, fire (Bomba), and cleanliness standards aligned with Halal, HACCP, and local council regulations.

Inventory Control & Compliance

• Assist in monitoring inventory accuracy and stock movement.
• Support stock count activities, inventory reconciliation, and reporting.
• Ensure logistics and warehouse operations comply with company SOPs, food safety requirements, and government regulations.
• Maintain accurate operational documentation and records.

Team Supervision & Coordination

• Supervise warehouse and logistics staff to ensure daily operational efficiency.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to team members.
• Coordinate closely with Purchasing, Operations, Finance, and Outlet teams to support business operations.
• Support the Manager in manpower planning and daily workforce allocation.

Operational Improvement & Reporting

• Assist in monitoring operational KPIs including delivery performance, inventory accuracy, and warehouse productivity.
• Identify operational issues and recommend process improvements.
• Support cost control initiatives and operational efficiency improvements.
• Prepare operational reports and updates for management review.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in logistics, warehouse, or supply chain operations, preferably in F&B, FMCG, or retail industry.
• Experience in warehouse operations, transportation coordination, and inventory management
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and warehouse/logistics and inventory management software systems.
• Strong coordination, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of the consumer goods industry.
• Good leadership and team supervision skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• An added advantage if you are able to speak Mandarin.
