Job summary

Hershey Malaysia Sdn Bhd is looking for a Maintenance Technician to operate and maintain machinery and equipment in the manufacturing area, ensuring efficiency and safe environment in line with GMP and food safety standards.

You will perform preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, document parameters accurately, manage consumables, and support continuous improvement to maximise line throughput.

Qualifications

• Minimum technical certificate or diploma in mechanical, electrical/electronics or related field.
• 2–5 years of hands-on mechanical work in manufacturing systems operations or maintenance.
• Proficient in Bahasa and English (verbal and written).
• Intermediate user of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Understanding of manufacturing environment with process and production lines.

Responsibilities

• Operate machine to achieve efficiency and output while maintaining equipment and surroundings.
• Enter information into check sheets, AIMS, or other systems per requirements.
• Comply with cleaning requirements and standards.
• Clean machine interiors/exteriors and work in various spaces per food safety standards.
• Optimize resource use, quality and productivity per specifications.
• Practice GMP and food safety; keep work area safe and clean.
• Maintain line throughput to maximise productivity.
• Record all parameters, materials used and storage with accountability.
• Complete preventive maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions following manuals.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electronic and process problems; seek help when needed.
• Inspect parts with calipers/micrometers to check dimensional changes.
• Adjust/calibrate parts using hand tools and test equipment.
• Fabricate/repair parts using shop tools.
• Provide maintenance information via root cause analysis.
• Assist in tracking plant key metrics.
• Perform inventory ordering and replenishment of operation tools.

Job description

To operate machine to achieve machine efficiency and output and tomaintain respective machine including all other machinery situated in the working area including its environment (eg floor, wall, AIMS, Barcode scanner, waste bins etc)

To comply with requirements of entering information into check sheet, AIMS or any other system in compliance with company/plant requirement.

To comply with all cleaning requirement and standards set including the method used to achieve those standards.

To clean machine interior and exterior, small spaces, working at height, working at tight spaces and environment in according to food safety and quality requirement.

To optimize resource, quality and productivity according to specification and plan for activities required for operation.

Practice GMP and food safety and always keep work environment safe and clean

Keeping up with expected throughput of the line in order to maximize productivity

Maintaining a clear and timely recording with accountability on its recording and documentation of all parameters, performance, material used & stored and other relevant information.

Ensure waste and rework is collected, kept and recorded accordingly according to procedure.

Ensures reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing predictive/preventive maintenance on equipment and systems; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

To troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electronic and process problem. If beyond understanding or capability, to seek assistance from superior or SME.

Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.

Adjusts and calibrates functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, and test equipment.

Fabricates or repairs parts by using shop instrumentation and equipment.

Provides electrical or mechanical maintenance information by conducting root cause analysis, answering questions, requests and participates in business unit team activities.

Assist in tracking and update plant’s key metrics

Perform inventory order and replenishment of operation related tools such as cleaning tools, maintenance tools, visual management label, printing ribbons, etc.

Requirements:

Minimum Technical Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical Electronics or any Technical related field preferred.

2-5 of hands on mechanical work in manufacturing systems operations or maintenance

Proficient in Bahasa and English languages, both verbal and written

Intermediate user of Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel, PowerPoint and Words

Basic understanding of manufacturing environment such as process and production lines, machinery and equipment set up, operation set-up and daily system

Practical knowledge and relevant experience in a Food manufacturing environment is a plus
