Job summary

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment operations, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.

Responsibilities

Job description

Perform daily metal surface finishing operations according to approved work instructions and process specifications.

Set up, operate, and adjust finishing equipment to achieve the required surface quality and appearance.

Carry out grinding, polishing, deburring, brushing, blasting, tumbling, cleaning, coating, plating, or anodizing processes as applicable.

Monitor and control key process parameters to maintain consistent product quality.

Perform visual and dimensional inspections of finished parts and identify surface defects.

Conduct surface roughness, coating thickness, or other required quality checks.

Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and make necessary adjustments to minimize downtime and defects.

Perform routine cleaning, inspection, and basic preventive maintenance of finishing equipment.

Support Manufacturing Engineer in process trials, process optimization, NPI, and improvement activities.

Investigate quality problems and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

Maintain accurate production, process, inspection, and maintenance records.

Ensure proper handling of chemicals, materials, tools, and finished parts.

Comply with safety, PPE, environmental, and chemical handling requirements.

Maintain 5S and good housekeeping standards in the work area.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, yield, quality, and reduce scrap/rework.

Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing issues.

Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an academic diploma or certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.

Fluency in both written and spoken Malay and English is required.

Proficiency in Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is essential for data analysis and presenting technical information.

A minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment is required.

Demonstrates a basic understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment operations, and troubleshooting techniques.

Possesses the ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and equipment manuals.

Exhibits foundational knowledge of measurement tools and quality inspection techniques.
