Public Gold Marketing Sdn Bhd seeks a detail-oriented Legal & Compliance Senior Executive to coordinate legal matters across Public Gold Group entities and support customer and vendor compliance, including KYC and AML/CFT screening.

The role requires strong organisational and analytical skills, ability to work with internal stakeholders and external counsel, and high confidentiality. Malaysiabased position in Kuala Lumpur with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Legal Studies, Compliance, or related discipline.
• Experience in legal coordination, corporate compliance, KYC/AML-CFT.
• Knowledge of customer due diligence, compliance screening and risk assessment.
• Experience coordinating with external legal counsel and managing legal documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organised with ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Legal & Compliance Senior Executive to join our Global Business Unit. You will coordinate legal matters across Public Gold Group entities and support customer and vendor compliance activities, including KYC and AML/CFT screening.

This role is ideal for someone with strong organisational and analytical skills who can manage multiple matters, work effectively with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel, and maintain a high level of confidentiality and professional integrity.

Key responsibilities

Monitor, track and follow up on legal correspondence, notices, agreements and supporting documentation across Public Gold Group entities.

Coordinate legal cases, disputes, claims and litigation matters with external legal counsel and relevant internal teams.

Maintain accurate legal records, case timelines, key deadlines and status updates.

Prepare case summaries, management reports and supporting documents for review and decision-making.

Escalate significant legal developments, risks and overdue actions to the appropriate stakeholders.

Conduct customer and vendor onboarding in accordance with internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

Perform KYC, customer due diligence and AML/CFT screening on customers and vendors.

Assess and document compliance risk profiles and escalates high-risk or unusual cases when necessary.

Support ongoing compliance monitoring, record-keeping and internal control activities.

Assist with compliance audits, internal reviews, remediation exercises and regulatory reporting.

About you

Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, Compliance, Business Administration or a related discipline.

Relevant experience in legal coordination, corporate compliance, KYC, AML/CFT or a related role.

Working knowledge of customer due diligence, compliance screening and risk assessment processes.

Experience coordinating with external legal counsel and managing legal documentation is an advantage.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Good analytical, problem-solving and report-writing abilities.

Highly organised, meticulous and able to manage multiple deadlines.

Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with different departments and Group entities.

High standards of confidentiality, integrity and professional conduct.

Candidates with substantial relevant experience in a Legal and Compliance Manager role are also encouraged to apply and may be considered for a managerial position, subject to their qualifications and experience.
