About the role

We are seeking an experienced Learning and Development Manager to join our team on a full-time basis at our resort in Sepang, Selangor. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive training and development programmes that enhance the skills and knowledge of our workforce across all departments. This position is pivotal in driving organisational capability, improving employee engagement, and ensuring our team delivers consistently outstanding service to our guests. You will play a key role in shaping the learning culture within the Company and supporting our employees' career progression.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver training programmes tailored to the needs of various departments, including front-of-house, back-of-house, spa, and culinary teams
• Conduct needs assessments and training gap analyses to identify skill development requirements across the organisation
• Create engaging learning content utilising a variety of delivery methods, including classroom training, online modules, workshops, and mentoring programmes
• Manage the training budget, procurement of learning materials, and evaluation of training effectiveness
• Develop and maintain training records, documentation, and learning management systems
• Collaborate with department heads and operational managers to align training initiatives with business objectives
• Support the onboarding and induction of new employees to ensure a smooth transition into the organisation
• Identify high-potential employees and create targeted development plans to support career advancement
• Evaluate the impact of training programmes through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in hospitality training and development
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing throughout the resort

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Learning and Development, training management, or a similar role, preferably within the hospitality or tourism industry
• Proven expertise in designing and delivering effective training programmes for diverse audience groups
• Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
• Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and experience with training evaluation tools
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences
• Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation
• Demonstrated ability to analyse training needs and develop solutions that drive measurable business outcomes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with digital training platforms
• Fluency in English; additional languages an advantage
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or equivalent are preferred
