Job summary

Allianz in Malaysia seeks an experienced underwriter to manage motor and non-motor risk within branch authority. You will ensure efficient department performance and align underwriting with company benchmarks while supporting growth across Commercial and P-Lines.

The role requires diligence in renewal terms, interactions with intermediaries, and guidance to clients and agents. You will coordinate with Head Office for high-risk cases and drive timely policy issuance and documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in a related field.
• Demonstrated analytical and risk assessment abilities.
• Strong time management and organization skills.
• Familiarity with ChatGPT or similar AI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• To access and underwrite non-motor and motor risk within authority limits.
• To manage department efficiency in line with company benchmarks.
• Take charge of motor and non-motor underwriting matters.
• Review renewal terms, assist processing hub, and guide underwriting/issuance.
• Underwrite and assess insurance proposals according to guidelines.
• Discuss terms with intermediaries and review quotations before release.
• Provide guidance to clients, agents and marketers on underwriting matters.
• Liaise with Head Office on high-risk acceptances; ensure timely issuance.
• Ensure policy/endorsement issuance meets turnaround benchmarks.
• Oversee documents submission and scanning; support business development.
• Prepare non-motor quotation slips above BDM acceptance; handle additional duties as needed.
