Job summary

St. Joseph's Institution International School in Malaysia seeks an outstanding SENCO to lead strategic development of SEN provision across the Elementary School.

You will provide professional guidance to teachers, work with parents and external agencies, and champion inclusive practice and safeguarding. The role requires experience as SENCO or in a significant SEN leadership role in a primary or international school, plus data-informed assessment and evidence-based intervention.

Qualifications

• Experience of working as a SENCO or in a significant SEN leadership role within a primary or international school is required.
• Strong understanding of inclusive practice and quality-first teaching.
• Experience leading a Learning Support team and working with parents and external agencies is desirable.
• Ability to use data to inform provision and drive improvement.

Responsibilities

• To lead the strategic development and day-to-day coordination of SEN provision
• To promote the Lasallian Mission and Core Values of SJIIS
• To lead, manage and develop the Learning Support Team
• To coordinate effective identification, assessment and support for pupils with SEN
• To use data and evidence-informed practice to evaluate provision and drive improvement
• To provide guidance and support to teachers and other colleagues
• To work collaboratively with pupils, parents, carers and external agencies
• To promote an inclusive approach to learning and school life
• To contribute to staff development and wider school improvement
• To maintain strong safeguarding practice and promote pupil wellbeing
